Will there ever be a leadership coup at Watchtower headquarters?
by Must obey! ini doubt it very much, at least not in the foreseeable future.
but what are your thoughts?
could you ever see it happening and under what circumstances & when?

What do JW's do to help the poor & needy at this time of year, or ever?
by Must obey! injust about every church i know of does something for the poor and needy around this time of year, who are not necessarily christians or members of their church.
from helping prisoners to delivering food hampers to visiting the lonely and elderly to helping poor people and children overseas, most churches i'm aware of do at least something to materially help the suffering in the community, home and abroad, regardless of their religious orientation.
many of these churches have programmes providing such assistance all year around, even many catholic churches.. but what do the jw's do to actually practically help the suffering and poor at this time of year, or ever?

Scriptural Christian requirements v JW Christian requirements
by Must obey! inthe scriptural requirements to be a good christian are refreshingly few and simple, perhaps encapsulated by these few scriptures (nwt):.
matthew 7:12 all things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must likewise do to them; this, in fact, is what the law and the prophets mean.
1 john 3:16 for god loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.. acts 15:28 for the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to you, except these necessary things, 29 to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication.

Is it official policy that elders MUST advise the parent to report abuse?
by Must obey! innotwithstanding the plain fact that the watchtower's heinous "two witness" rule is obviously flawed (scripturally and in terms of natural justice), it seems to me that as long as the elders are advising the parent/caregiver to go to the authorities in every case where an accusation of child abuse has occurred that this is sufficient for the elders to discharge their legal duty, shouldn't it?.
i have heard rumours that this is in fact the official current policy (since when i don't know) of the society: that they tell the elders to advise the parent/caregiver to inform the authorities of alleged child abuse.
but how firm is this policy?

JW's, not apostates, are trapped in the snare of trembling at men
by Must obey! inthe society and it's circuit overseers love to harp on about apostates being caught in the "trap of the birdcatcher".
(psalm 91:3) but it is jw's who are hopelessly trapped in another, equally dangerous snare.
proverbs 29: 25 "trembling at men is what lays a snare, but he that is trusting in jehovah will be protected.".

Watchtower says JW's can reach different conclusions & it's fine!!!
by Must obey! inwatchtower study article "responding to your conscience" (october 15, 2007, pages 25-29, studied december 3-9, 2007) .
dealing with, inter alia, oral sex, contained what i thought was an interesting new way of describing how jw's can form their own personal, and different, conclusions and that no one needs to be 'disturbed' by this.
i have never seen the watchtower describe it quite this way, even in relation to conscience matters like whether to attend a church wedding.

How many JW's are leaving the the org each year - is the figure rising?
by Must obey! ini think i've seen clever posters work out how many leave the organisation each year, or at least stop being 'publishers'.
how many have been leaving each year since 2000?
is the number increasing?.
